About Me
Karen R. Mason, MS, MPFS, is the Director of Compliance of Healthy Leaf Organics (HLO), LLC & That Gyrl Enterprises, Inc.
She is responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance with all applicable state and local laws & regulations across cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, and delivery operations. She also assists in the development of company policies & standard operating procedures, monitors operations to identify and correct instances of non-compliance, and functions as a quasi-independent and objective body, that reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns within the organization.
Karen has been in the Internal Audit & Regulatory Compliance Profession for the past 25 years; as an experienced Senior Internal Audit Professional, and a strategic, collaborative & innovative Inclusion Leader. Her primary responsibilities include performing independent assessments on the administrative and accounting controls designed by the organization. Also, by utilizing her interpersonal, analytical, and collaborative skills, she has been extremely effective in establishing and maintaining beneficial relationships among respected business and professional leaders.
Additionally, she is the CKO (Chief Knowledge Officer) of “Karen’s Knuggets of Knowledge”; as her mission is to provide interesting, yet succinct, authentic & 'common-sense' blogs and snippets on how to live your best life from an optimistic, yet encouraging perspective.
And, if that is not enough, she is the Executive Producer/Co-Host of “Kandid Konversations With K & K” ™. Launched in February 2021, Kandid Konversations with K & K™ is a 60-Minute Weekly Podcast dedicated to empowering Women by discussing Women's Issues (Dating, Domestic Violence, Financial Literacy, How To Pivot During The Pandemic, Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence, Dealing with Grief, etc.) from an informative, yet candid perspective, via various digital media platforms like Facebook and YouTube.
Karen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting/Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago and holds a Master of Science Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University; along with receiving a Certificate of Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University.see less
