Matthew Abel was on the drafting committee for the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act. Matt founded the law firm of Cannabis Counsel® in Detroit, Michigan, and has the distinction of being the first full-time marijuana lawyer in Michigan. He is highly respected and a zealous advocate and advisor.
While some areas in Michigan are nearly saturated, most areas lack local retail stores. Much of the market has yet to transition to the legal, regulated, tested and taxed marketplace, and so we expect the licensing phase of this newly legal industry to last at least five years, and perhaps more than ten years before hitting full saturation.
