About Me
Bernard von NotHaus was born in 1944. He excelled in Art and Architecture at Kansas State University from 1962 to 1968 then moved to Frieberg, Germany and on to London, where he staged an “internal sculpture” and hung out with John Lennon.
His personal “Journey to the East” that took him high up into the Hindu Kush where road bandits, shoot outs and other wild adventures were daily occurrences. Eventually, he retired to Hawaii, where he built The Spaceship, a geodesic dome atop a volcano in Honolulu in 1972 and met Talena Jay Presley (Telle) - the love of his life.
In 1974, BVNH had an epiphany, wrote an economic research paper, founded the Royal Hawaiian Mint and continues to serve as its Mintmaster, had two amazing sons with Telle in 1979 & 80. In 1998 he launched the Liberty Dollar and became the Monetary Architect and the cause celebre’ for issuing the gold & silver based Liberty Dollar. It was so wildly successful that the US government tried to kill it by convicting BVNH of counterfeiting but that tactic failed miserably.
On Sunday, April 21, 1996, he discovered the spirituality of cannabis and authored One Toke To God with a group of PhD friends to popularize the spirituality of cannabis. He has enjoyed one toke every Sunday for the past 25+ years. Today he is the inspired founder & executive director of the Cannabis Spiritual Center.see less
