Leapt into CA cannabis industry upon 2016 legalization. Raised $15mm, pioneered cannabis activities in Calexico (Imperial County). Obtained an unprecedented 10 State licenses leapfrogging municipal license approvals, substantially shortening path to revenue, and further negotiated tax rate reduction from 5% to 1%.
APPLY DEEP STRUCTURED FINANCE, CAPITAL RAISING, FINANCIAL MODELING, AND LEGAL DOCUMENTATION SKILLSETS:
Solely originated, structured, negotiated, and documented over $300mm of equity, subordinated debt, senior revolving, securitized, and SBIC capital for my start-ups. Optimized capital structure delivering lowest possible cost-of-capital while achieving highest overall stakeholder ROI.
OPERATIONS AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Traditional lenders ignored lower middle market healthcare providers. Conceived, built, and financed a fully integrated lower middle market non-correlated, diversified asset-based healthcare lending platform yielding an unlevered 27% portfolio return.
SALES & MARKETING:
Designed private lending platform product launch: sourced over $1B of transactions in first two weeks of launch; maintained $200mm average pipeline; personally originated 40% of deal flow; customized Salesforce 3 times under budget.
LEADERSHIP, INNOVATION, AND EXECUTION:
Company’s $100mm securitization facility was terminated when our senior lender withdrew from the market. Wrote 250-page PPM in eight weeks to bring in capital and avoid winddown. Raised and deployed $5mm of bridge/sub-debt into loans. With track record, raised $25mm of equity and $40mm of senior revolving debt. Retained team.
